What to consider
Choosing laminate for your room.
The best option depends on the room, the existing floor and how much wear it will get. We will go through it with you during the home visit.

Thickness
Thicker boards tend to feel more solid and can cope better with small imperfections underneath. For most homes, we usually start at 8mm.
02
Wear Rating (AC)
The AC rating shows how much wear the surface can take. AC3 suits normal home use, while AC4 is better for busy halls and open-plan spaces.
03
Sub-floor Prep
Laminate is only as good as the floor beneath it. We survey the sub-floor before quoting and advise on any levelling needed. Skipping this step is where most laminate installations go wrong.

Underlay
Underlay can reduce noise, add warmth and make the floor feel better underfoot. Some boards already have it attached; we will explain what your room needs.

Room Suitability
Standard laminate is not suitable for bathrooms or very damp areas. Vinyl or LVT will usually be a better choice for those rooms.

Finish & Colour
Pick from pale oak tones, warmer natural colours and darker smoked finishes. Viewing them beside your walls and furniture makes the decision easier.
